The Effect of Other Compensation on Social Security Disability Benefits
Social Security disability benefits, your eligibility, and the amount you receive can be affected by receipt of money from other sources, including:
Workers’ Compensation: Collecting workers’ compensation can lower your social security benefits as the SSA takes into consideration the funds you receive.
Public Disability Payments: Similar to workers’ compensation, collecting public disability payments can decrease the benefits received from the SSA. However, payments afforded by private sources, such your insurance company, do not alter your social security disability benefits.
If you have applied for social security disability benefits and your claim has been denied, call Ross & Ross at (814) 274-8612 and let us fight for the benefits you have earned.
