Who Are We?

Our firm is composed of experienced Pennsylvania FDCPA attorneys who regularly evaluate debt collection harassment claims for people in Pennsylvania's Western and Middle Federal District District Courts for debtors who live in McKean, Potter, and Tioga County, Pennsylvania.  We serve the communities of Coudersport, Galeton, Shinglehouse, West Branch, Smethport, Port Allegany, Bradford, Roulette and Wellsboro.

It is no secret debt collectors in Pennsylvania resort to aggressive tactics when attempting to collect debts. However, did you know that most of these tactics violate the law?  Our attorneys and law firm are committed to helping you and regularly evaluate these types of violations in McKean, Potter, Tioga, Cameron, Elkland, and Lycoming Counties.  We do not charge you any fees because the law authorizes collection of fees from the debt collectors.

THE FDCPA

Debt collection agencies often use dirty tactics in an attempt to intimidate you into paying a debt you have very little means to pay. Not only is this unfair, but also unreasonable. Seldom do debt collectors take into account your current standard of living and the people that depend on you for their support. When a debt collector is being untruthful when speaking with you or communicates threats and harasses you, they have broken the law and should be held accountable.

To curb abusive debt collection, Congress passed the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The FDCPA prohibits debt collectors from using deceitful methods to collect outstanding debts. In fact, under this law the debt collector may actually have to pay you $1,000.00 dollars for violating your rights.

If a debt collection agent or agency has ever threatened you in any way, you may be entitled to file a lawsuit against the debt collection company or law firm to protect your consumer rights and pursue compensation for damages.

Creditors Harassing You? - Know Your Rights

Consumer debt collection is regulated by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The Act protects people from abusive debt collection practices. It places limits on how often they can call, what they can say, and how they can collect a debt. Give us a call if you are being harassed. The Act provides for $1,000.00 per violation and attorney's fees. Consultation on FDCPA cases is free. Better yet, if you hire our firm you will never pay any fee to us to pursue an FDCPA claim. We will collect the fees directly from the creditor who is harassing you!
