Bankruptcy Filings On The Rise
We noticed a significant increase in bankruptcy filings in the last 12 months, so we did some research to see if our experience was unique. It wasn't. Total bankruptcy filings rose 16.8 percent over the lat 12 months. Filings are up both in personal and business bankruptcies. According to the latest statistics available, non-business filings last year reached 434,064, compared with 374,240 in December 2022. This is the fourth quarter that total bankruptcy filings rose.
